Bright Jaja the CEO/founder of iCreate Africa receives the 2019 Soundcity Africa MVP Festival Award for Innovation and excellence in entrepreneurship and digital influence
iCreate Skills Fest is a platform established to showcase and empower skilled youth as a means to create skilled jobs, and by so doing curb unemployment in Africa. Bright Jaja has paved a way emerging a renewed work force by establishing platforms which ensure that Nigerian skilled youth are showcased, encouraged, valued and groomed to become entrepreneurs in their said fields.
An ordinary Nigerian youth, he describes himself, who is saddened by the fact that Nigeria has over 20 million youth unemployed and 12 million kids out of school. “…I am an ordinary Nigeria that is tired of complaining and decided to take a step to do something about it. I took responsibility to create 5millon Jobs in 5years and after a year I can proudly say we have created over 1000 jobs and inspired hundreds of thousands to acquire skills that’s is in demand regardless of what society thinks.”
Time has changed and so is the educational structure. We are in an evolving world where the need for skills is imminent, and resources more available. Nigerian youth are advised to stand on their desires to create and pursue their skilled trade. Bright Jaja challenges us all, skilled professionals or not to get up and so something about youth unemployment saying, “If I can do it as an ordinary Nigerian youth, you also can!”.
